In Memorium

Classmates who left us in the past few years not yet written here: ..................... Vivian Locklear Williamson ___ Glenda Brock Langley ___ Amy Akins Mayfield ___ Tommy Williams' wife Ann ___ Joan McBride Mitchell ___ Wayne Leatherwood ___ Sandra Allgood Smith ___ Chesley Maxwell ___ Sue Shepherd Perry ___ Linda Atkins Lee ___ Jimmy McKelvey ___ These are all I remember that were not mentioned before. Blogger changed the format of posts so there's less control over how these look.

2017

It's been 3 years since this blog was updated. My brother always refused to let us 'celebrate' sad anniversaries. I think we do need to mark the passage of time by noting when our classmates leave this life.

Ronnie's Mother

Mrs. Mary Blalock Hutcheson, age 89

passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

As Bob Dylan wrote in his song "The times, they are a'changin'"  It appears that with all the modern "Social Networking" methods; texting, tweeting, emailing, and of course being "tethered" to Facebook or "LinkedIn", the art of writing a good letter or "reaching out to touch someone" with a good old Phone Call has gone by the way.  BUMMER!

Fifty Three years ago this month, the Class of 1960 embarked on the Journey of Adult-hood with great expectations, well some did anyway.  For me, I remember thinking "NOW WHAT". Some decided on a military career, some decided to became teachers, some were "Called" to serve the Lord, and then there were bankers, business persons, mill workers, and just about anything we can name.
(I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up!)

For awhile there seemed to be a lot of interest in this Blog but it seems that the Class of 1960 has just lost interest the wonderful work that or dear classmate has done over the years so she decided to close the Blog.   Well, I'm going to try and revive this thing and hopefully some of you will start sending some posts or at least comment on my post.

An Update of a Sort

The Class of 1962 celebrated their Reunion at the Depot last weekend. I've seen pictures. It looks as if they had a really great time.

I'm thinking about closing this blog. There were two or three visitors this week but I think two of them may have been me, checking to see if it was still viable and there was no Spam.

If you check in, leave a note so I'll know somebody's looking. I rarely hear from Rockmart and have nobody there any more, so I have little to share.
